Fireplace is ablaze at Merne

With winter fast approaching we love getting the fireplace stoked up on the cold dreary days. The warmth and cosiness it generates is certainly uplifting. The restaurant sits high, with panoramic views of the countryside and the bay. Its a stunning view to watch the cold fronts moving through all in the comfort of the log fire here at Merne.

The cooler weather sees the kitchen team picking local mushrooms and starting to get their first substantial crops from the gardens. Coming through the the next week or so are radishes, beetroots, baby carrots, ginger mint and sage. All wonderful additions to the menu. Quinces and cumquats grown on the property have found their way into the restaurant

The grazing, sharing style menu is a lovely way to experience Merne and the menu is evolving with the fast approaching change of season. The slow roasted 72 hr Pork has been overwhelmingly popular as we look forward to creating new winter warming dishes in the near future.
